With a big lens and a stack of features, the Sony W170 is a digital camera that's made to please. Its relatively large lens opening stands out, as does the optical viewfinder window, rare on such a small digital camera. Just what I have been waiting for
Strengths: Wide angle lens, good battery life, compact. Anti-shake.
Weakness: 10 minute video clip limit. No zoom function when taking video.
The wide angle lens is what makes it for this camera. The 5x zoom still gives plenty of telephoto also. It is a little thicker than the Sony W-50 that I have been using, but the accessories are the same, including cases. The battery life seems very good and the quality of the pictures is excellent.
