Nikon Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Telephoto...Strengths: Absolute perfection. Weakness: None. Hey look! I'm the first one to review this lens! Here it goes... Build Quality - This is one of Nikon's top-of-the-line zoom lenses. It is built as any lens in this class should be. Tight, precise, and rugged. I hope I never introduce this lens to the ground but if I do I feel it will survive. Weight - A little over 3 pounds it's right on par for a lens in this class. Size - Pretty big! This is a...

One of the finest lenses of all time!Strengths: Very sharp lens, presents exceptional depth of field. VR feature really works, for amazing photography. Weakness: Heavy, large, and expensive. When I converted from film to digital, I purchased a Sigma - 70-200 2.8 APO EX HSM Lens to use as a tele-zoom lens. The Sigma is also a great lens, and was among my favorite lenses to use, especially for outdoor sports (school soccer, track, etc.). I enjoy taking candid photos of people, and the 70-200 allows taking natural photos without being noticed by the subject (especially with the typical...

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-NikkorStrengths: Sharp, beautiful bokeh, fast AF-S auto-focusing, VR allows low shutter speed handling, and pro quality construction. Weakness: Expensive price and weight. After receiving this zoom lens, I spent 4 days testing it. The result from shooting a test chart seems to confirm the same finding as other users of this lens. At 200 mm f/2.8, the image is a bit soft, but became sharp by just closing down a stop in the aperture. The results from shooting portraits and other real world objects show the weakness at 200 mm f/2.8 is not a concern to me at all,...

Extremely pleased with this lens after my first week...Strengths: VR, Sharpness, fast (f2.8). Weakness: Price (but worth it if your budget can handle it). I've been shooting with this lens for a week now and it has performed wonderfully in low light and bright. The auto focus is fast, smooth and quiet through the entire range. My images from the lens are tack sharp also through the full range of the zoom. The VR is a definite plus as it is a heavy lens (to be expected). After a day of shooting at the San Diego Wild Animal Park I was pleased with...

The Revolution has begun...Strengths: Built quality of the lens is as good as it gets. As you would expect from an AF-S lens, auto focus is blissfully silent and fast. Weakness: None... This is a G-type lens, which means that it does not have an aperture ring. As you will read elsewhere, VR does indeed work. As promised by Nikon, you can use shutter speeds three stops slower than you would normally employ. VR function, however, reduces camera shake and does not take care of subject movement. This lens is sharp, sharp, sharp!

Awesome lens!Strengths: Fast aperture! Weakness: A little on the heavy side. VR seemed to stall a couple of times. This is one beautiful lens!!! I use this lens on both my F5 and D70. Although the focal length is 70-200mm, it effectively becomes a 105-300mm lens when I use it with my D70 because of the 1.5x magnification factor. This gives me the ability to get those up close and personal shots without encroaching on my subjects personal space. Perfect for those candid shots I'm after. At 3.2lbs, it's a tad...

Nikkor 70-200mm VR - The Best Zoom There IsStrengths: o Solid Build o Excellent Feel in Hand o SHARP SHARP Images o Vibration Reduction Weakness: o Price - factor not all can enjoy this lens o Weight and Size - making your camera bag more expensive I got this lens 5 days ago after having reading tons of great reviews on various photography web sites. They were all true! This is an excellent lens that has become an instant classic in Nikon's high quality glass. It focuses instantly with my D70, and the VR works just like magic. I do a variety of different shoots and I'm going to make this lens a center piece of my equipment, with a planned...

Nikon Zoom Telephoto AF VR Zoom Nikkor 70-200mm...Strengths: Big Aperture, high Nikon quality, fast focus, sharp, sharp, sharp and beautiful Bokeh. Plus VR function! Weakness: Price This is one of the best Zoom Lens Nikon ever built. This lens is beautifully built and it is a must-have for professionals and advanced amateurs. It focus super-fast, silently and accurately. Vibration reduction feature is cool and I got very sharp pictures when I was in a moving train. The pictures are sharp and the Bokeh is absolutely beautiful. The lens is expensive but it is worth every...

What a Lens!Strengths: Sharp, Crisp concert photography without flash Outstanding results! Weakness: Price is a major factor for the everyday photographer It's hard to believe you can get such outstanding low light photos that also stop motion and fill the frame with beautiful results! Hand held, full color with no blur. This lens is outstanding and I'm thankful to be able to afford to add it to my camera gear. It's actually detrimental to use a tripod or monopod with this lens, it's meant for hand held. I haven't had any poor results and am...

Nikon Zoom Telephoto 70-200
Strengths: Fast focus Good indoor in low light
Weakness: Weight
Received as a Christmas gift. It has exceeded my expectations. Primarily use for action photos. Have used for indoor ice hockey and taken great action shots. Very pleased and cannot wait until I can use at kids football games. Best part is quick focus so you can capture action shots even in the ice arena (low light). It is worth the money.
