Review: I just got the lens on April 24, 06. It is heavy. Especial when you attach it on 5D with 580EX. I can't hold them all with one hand over one minute. I must use two hand to control them. The IS function is amazing, it really works. Now I only have taken photo indoor because of the weather.I think the lens is great for any purpose.

Review: Top quality at a reasonable price. I use this with a Canon D60 EOS Digital camera and results are professional in quality. Would be nice to have image stabilization and a 2.8 vs a 4 but these come at a high cost. If you can live with F4 then this is the lens to buy in the 70-200mm range! With the 1.6 ratio of the D60 it turns into a 112-320mm lens.

Weaknesses: 55mm is a little short but for about 80% of the shots that I want to take it is long enough

Review: First, I would rather have something more like a 20-135. Beyond that this lens is the best that I have tried out of the 17-85 F4 and the 28-135 F3.6. I think the F2.8 is almost required to get decent focus accuracy and reliability. It may not need to be a *constant* F2.8 but at least at the wide angle it should be F2.8. Weaknesses: Cheap construction, slightly soft

Review: Only 2 weeks usage, but I am generally pleased with the lens. It's not great, but it is a budget level lens, so expectations should not be high. Considered the 70-300IS also, but at 2x cost, did not think it was worth it, and prefer to have 55 on the short end rather than 70. Recommended, for what it is.
